A Software for Diffraction Stress Factor Calculations for Textured Materials
نویسنده
چکیده
A software package for the calculation of diffraction elastic constants (DEC) for materials both with and without preferred orientation was developed. All grain-interaction models that can use the crystallite orientation distribution function (ODF) are incorporated, including Kröner, Hill, inverse Kröner, and Reuss. The functions of the software include: reading the ODF in common textual formats, pole figure calculation, calculation of DEC for different (hkl,,), calculation of anisotropic bulk constants from the ODF, calculation of macro-stress from lattice strain and vice versa as well as mixture ratios of (hkl) of overlapped reflections in textured materials.

An Investigation of the Accuracy of Diffraction Stress Evaluation of Textured Materials
The determination of residual or applied stress through X-ray or neutron diffraction is generally regarded as a mature method. Most x-ray diffractometers can be used to perform a measurement of lattice strain vs. tilt angle, which is then converted into stress. The apparent simplicity of the conversion (the sinø law comes to mind) betrays the fact that elastic and plastic anisotropy often cause...

متن کاملDevelopment of Material Analyzing Software Using X-Ray Diffraction
X-ray diffraction is an effective mean for analyzing material properties. This paper developed a new computational software for determining the properties of crystalline materials such as elastic constants, residual stresses, surface hardness, phase components, and etc. The results computed from the X-ray diffraction method were compared to those from the traditional methods and they are in the...

We present a review of the application of diffraction stress/strain analysis to small volumes. For cases in which the material properties and/or the stress state are not homogeneous, traditional approaches may yield erroneous stress results. On the other hand, with proper care, relevant mechanical information about the system can be obtained. Through the use of conventional and synchrotron-base...
متن کاملTexture design for microwave dielectric (Ca0.7Nd0.3)0.87TiO3 ceramics through reactive-templated grain growth
Plate-like Ca3Ti2O7 (CT) and Nd2Ti2O7 (NT) particles were synthesized in molten salts and used as reactive templates for the preparation of highly textured (Ca0.7Nd0.3)0.87TiO3 bulk ceramics (CNT) with preferred pseudocubic 〈100〉 and 〈110〉 orientations, respectively. During flux growth CT and NT particles developed facets parallel to the pseudocubic {100} and {110} planes, respectively, in a pe...
